Rever

Client
Located in Eagle, Colorado, Rever is a platform that connects a global community of motorcycle enthusiasts via a free mobile app and website to allow them to discover new motorcycling experiences.

Problem
The client came with a full set of design mockups for an early version of an iOS/Android app. The challenge was to create a social network for the motorcycle community with features to explore new routes, connect with fellow riders, and share their motorcycle experiences.

The client entrusted the development team with complete freedom in the tech stack choice, aiming for a solution that was both innovative and user-friendly.

Solution
Using Objective-C/Swift (CoreData, CoreLocation, MapKit, UIKit) for the iOS version, and Java (CoreJava, RxJava, UIKit, etc.) for Android, we implemented the design mockups into the app’s coded screens. The full set of features included socialization capabilities, a GPS automatic route tracker, and notifications for friends about trip start and end times.

Results
The development process took us almost 5 months. The Rever app prototype passed testing and was successfully released to App Store and Google Play. The prototype helped the owners to raise seed funding. Rever has received good reviews from the motorcycling community. After a few years, the company successfully raised a further $2.9 million in funding and was subsequently acquired by Comoto Holdings.
